The Foundation makes grants to a wide range of charities and organisations
which meet one of our three chosen areas of focus:
Young people and education
Hospitality training and employment
International disaster relief
By supporting these charities – through payroll giving, local
grants by Hilton hotels (the 50% scheme) and central grants endorsed by the Board
of Trustees – the Foundation aims to make a real difference.
The list of charities provided for by Hilton in the Community Foundation
increases every month but a selection of the 62 charities supported
during 2003 is listed below. You can find out more about the charities
and how the Foundation has helped their work by clicking on the
individual names.
Young people and education
The Foundation is investing in the future by supporting vital areas
of education to help young people throughout the UK and Ireland.
Hospitality training and employment
From the financing of apprentice schemes to helping mothers return
to full time employment, the Foundation provides funds for employment
related schemes to help those people who want to work or return
to work.
International disaster relief
Hilton International operates nearly 400 hotels worldwide. The Foundation
aims to provide help at times of need to the communities in which
we serve.

50% charities
The Foundation Champions are encouraged to nominate local charities for grants. Up to 50% of the money raised by each hotel may be allocated locally, after authorisation by the Foundation trustees.
