In-kind donations Hilton Hotels and Resorts occasionally have surplus or unwanted items available at short notice. HCF works with these hotels and with 'In Kind Direct' to support local charities by brokering the donation of goods and services as they become available. Accommodation is often supplied, where business demands permit, at a reduced or complimentary rates, especially for disadvantaged groups such as children with terminal illnesses taking part in a 'Wish' experience. Examples of past donations include toiletries and towels for Crisis Christmas, blankets for relief work in disaster zones and furniture and furnishings for local charities. In 2011 HCF provided 48 discounted or complimentary stays for 'wish' children and their families, enabling our charity partner Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity to focus their limited resources on other priorities.
