Giveaways

One established process of raising awareness of local charities and grants and engaging team members has been to run 'Giveaways' partnering hotels with their local newspapers. This has run successfully across several regions and helps hotel charity committees to unearth the very best projects in their region and engage in the decision making process. It also allows smaller charities, many of whom may not otherwise have heard of Hilton in the Community Foundation, to share details of their projects and to receive coverage of their projects in their local newspaper. These campaigns typically conclude with an awards ceremony at the hotel, allowing team members and beneficiary charities the chance to meet one another.

Manchester giveaway - Jan- Feb 2014

Hilton Manchester Deansgate and Hilton in the Community Foundation, a charity that supports young people who are disadvantaged, are appealing for local groups and charities to apply for a slice of £10k in partnership with the Manchester Evening News.

Charities/Schools/Groups can apply for any amount up to £10,000 but Hilton Manchester Deansgate wants to help as many local organisations as possible and will favour those which want the funding for specific needs or projects. The £10k giveaway, available to charities and groups who work with young people and children in need across Greater Manchester, is designed to give a helping hand to continue with their work.

Deadline for applications is 24th February 2014 and the recipients of the 10k giveaway will be announced at a special ceremony in March at Hilton Manchester Deansgate.

Hilton Northern Ireland giveaway - December 2013 - Entries now closed

Entries for the £10,000 Christmas Giveaway in partnership with Sunday Life are now closed. Applications are being reviewed and the shortlisted applicants will be contacted in due course.

Hilton Belfast and Hilton Templepatrick work with HCF to help create brighter futures for children and young people in their local communities. Since 2006, Hilton in the Community Foundation has donated a combined total of £163,742 to charities in Northern Ireland working in the areas of health and education. All of the money is raised by staff at the hotels, with the support of generous guests and suppliers, following an eclectic range of fundraising initiatives.

Great Swindon Giveaway - August -October 2013 - Entries now closed

Hilton Swindon is delighted to celebrate its partnership with Swindon 105.5 that has benefited charities supporting children and young people in Swindon and the surrounding areas. Through this partnership Hilton in the Community Foundation has given away £10,000 to local charities local to Hilton Swindon. The charities that received grants included Swindon Women's Aid, Swindon Downs Syndrome Group, Swindon 10-18 project, Stay & Play 2, Clivey and Twist ‘Children and Young Peoples Project, Wichelstowe Scout Groupn and Swindon 105.5.
