Hilton in the Community Foundation wants to help as many young people as possible. Under the banner Supporting Young People Worldwide the Foundation is dedicated to making a real difference to those most in need, wherever Hilton Worldwide operates. Through targeted grant-giving, we aim to support smaller charities that might otherwise be overlooked.

Under the remits of education and health, the Foundation has a particular focus on:

• Disabled children
• Children in hospital
• Homelessness
• Life-limited children in hospices

Since 2000 when the Foundation was created, more than £8 million has been raised and donated to good causes. In 2010, the Foundation donated over £1 million to numerous good causes, including Calum's Cabin, Panathlon Foundation, Dukes Barn, UNICEF, With Kids and many more. The Hilton Worldwide Hotels and offices can also nominated local charities to receive 50% of the money raised by colleagues (in the UK and Ireland, the remaining 50% being distributed through our central grant process) and 100% (in continental Europe), benefiting causes such as LPC Belgique, Special Olympics Deutschland e.V., Licht ins Dunkel, Stichting Spieren voor Spieren, Artists for Kids GmbH and many more. A large proportion of the Foundation’s income is generated through fundraising initiatives run by Hilton Worldwide across Europe. By promoting and harnessing the charitable goodwill in the team, our suppliers and guests, the Foundation fosters the energy and commitment of individual supporters and in turn is able to ensure that those most in need benefit 100% from the grants made.

Hilton funds the central administrative costs of the Foundation, so every net £1 and €1 raised from our generous donors goes directly to help young people.

Aims and Objectives
Hilton in the Community Foundation was registered in 2000 as the charitable trust for Hilton Hotels. This was an imaginative statement of intent by Hilton’s Board, demonstrating a bold and progressive commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Administration
Registered as an independent charity no. 1084220 (England and Wales) and 038995 (Scotland), the Foundation has an independent Board of Trustees and Grants Committee comprised of independent as well as senior Hilton personnel. The Board of Trustees includes independent members and Hilton members nominated by the business.

Please note that Hilton in the Community Foundation is a separate charity from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, which is based in the USA.
