The Foundation was delighted to support two childrens charities with the Small Change, Big Difference 2007 campaign.

During the months of October, November and December 2007, guests at Hilton and Conrad hotels across the UK and Ireland were invited to give an optional 1 or 1 on their hotel bills.

Money raised in the UK was donated to CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA to purchase vital equipment for the new childhood cancer and leukaemia centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. The total raised was 129,746!

The UK campaign was headed by CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA trustee Linda Robson and three-year-old leukaemia survivor, Louisa Buttery.

Hilton in the Community Foundation is Hiltons charity dedicated to supporting young people worldwide in the communities that Hilton Hotels serve. All costs of the Foundation are covered by the company and as such every net penny raised goes to the childrens charities that the Foundation supports.

Money raised in Ireland stayed in the country to help local children with autism. 8,619 was raised for Irish Autism Action, to help fund the first helpline for children and families affected by autism. Keith Duffy, a patron of the charity supported the campaign and encouraged Conrad and Hilton guests in Ireland to donate their euros.

To date, Small Change, Big Difference has raised more than 710,000 for childrens charities in the UK and Ireland. These include: Association of Childrens Hospices, Barnardos, ChildLine, Teenage Cancer Trust, The Childrens Sunshine Home and the ISPCC.

Thank you to generous hotel guests who enable this annual campaign to happen.
