What is Just Giving?
Just Giving is a website where you can register and create your own online fundraising page. This link can then be emailed out to everyone you know and they can donate online as well as read about the event you are taking part in and the charity you are supporting. You can also add on extras such as photos, a diary of training and a running total of sponsorship to date.

Not only can you distribute all the info to everyone you know, regardless of distance, it also cuts down on the hassle of cheques and paper sponsorship forms.

The site also automatically reclaims 28% Gift Aid on all donations from UK taxpayers which will increase your sponsorship total.

How do I set up my own page?

On www.justgiving.com/hitcf/raisefunds you will see a list of ‘Official Events’ on the right hand side. Choose ‘Around the World in a Day’, you will then be asked to log in to the site or register as a new user.

If you haven’t registered yet, complete the required details. Registering with Justgiving only takes a minute, and is needed to process your supporters’ donations and reclaim Gift Aid, where relevant. Click the continue button and you can now personalise your sponsorship page!

When you have finished entering your special greeting, thank you message and target amount, click to submit the details. You will have an opportunity to submit a photo too. Don’t worry – this can be done at any time. Click to preview your page where indicated and you can make any changes until you are happy with your page.  You can return to your personal fundraising zone at any time to make updates or changes to your page.

TIP: Set your Justgiving webpage address as your email signature so that it will automatically go out to all those you are emailing.
